Macdonald Ringette Association Preseason Update
We have a number of things we’d like to share with you prior to the start of the 2021-2022 ringette season.
Ringette Manitoba is working on their return to ringette plan. Once that has been released, Macdonald Ringette Association (“MRA”) will seek sanctioning to start our season. We hope to be in a position to begin on-ice activity by mid-September. If all goes as anticipated here is what you can expect:
Yes, each registered participant will have opportunities to hit the ice for “dust-off” skates. This will look different at each age level.
Yes, we have a Bring a Friend and Try Ringette skate scheduled for Sunday, September 12th at 1pm at Oak Bluff Arena. Any player who wants to bring out a friend to try ringette is welcome to attend. This gives our community an opportunity to showcase our sport and increase interest in registrations. For more information and to confirm attendance, please contact Renee at r4urep.macringette@gmail.com
Yes, there will be tryouts for A level teams. For any player who is interested in trying out for an A level team, we hope to have two pre-tryout skates. We hope to have ice for those skates between September 11thand 19th. We anticipate that the tryout skates will take place between September 21stand the 28th.
In addition to the above, we are planning for dust-off skates before teams are finalized for all of our players registered in the association. We hope to have everyone hit the ice by the week of September 19th. Teams will be formed by early October, and can begin practices thereafter.
Yes. We anticipate having power skating and goalie clinics throughout the season, pending approval. We hope to offer these clinics by mid-October. More information regarding registration will be forthcoming.
We appreciate your patience as we finalize plans for the upcoming season. Stayed tuned for more information.
